Pakistan army chief says coup speculation false

Pakistan's army chief said on Friday that any speculation the military was planning a takeover was misleading.    

An army statement quoted General Ashfaq Kayani as telling troops that the military will continue to support democracy in Pakistan, where a memo accusing the country's generals of plotting a coup has raised tensions with civilian leaders.
