Italian husband kills wife and children before watching World Cup match

An Italian man stabbed his wife and two children to death before heading to a pub to watch the World Cup match between England and Italy.

Carlo Lissi (31) was allegedly in love with a young female colleague at work that she did not reciprocate his feelings, and considered his family an "obstacle".

The wife, Maria Cristina Omes (38) and his two children, aged four and 20 months were also found killed at their home located in Motta Visconti near Milan on Sunday.

Lissi initially denied any relation to the crime.

He said he had spent most of Saturday evening with his family before going with his friends to the pub to watch the match, which Italy won 2-1.
