At least 170 thousand killed since beginning of Syrian uprising in 2011
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Thursday that at least 170 thousand people have been killed since the beginning of the Syrian uprising in March 2011.

The observatory stated in its report that 56,495 civilians were among the killed, including 9,092 children, and 5,873 females, as well as 65,803 from the Syrian regime and armed groups supporting it.

The report adds that 46,301 opposition fighters were killed since March 2011 among them members from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, stressing that 2,910 remain unidentified.

The observatory also mentioned that among the 65,803 killed from the Syrian regime, 39,036 are from the security forces and the military personnel, 24,655 are from popular committees and the national defense army, 509 members from Hezbollah, and 1,603 foreigners.
