U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called for a summit this week on the situation in Libya. Ki-moon added that the summit should be in the presence of leaders from the African Union, the League of Arab States and other regional organizations.
Ki-moon offered help to ensure a safe political transition in Libya.
The Secretary General also said that the fact that Syrian President Bashar Assad did not put an end to the military and police crackdown on protestors as promised is very aggravating.
