Coffee lovers have lower risk of death
An American study including 400,000 participants showed that those who people who drank a few cups of coffee per day had a 10 percent lower risk of death than the non-coffee drinkers, over the following 14 years.

In a report published in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers pointed out that  coffee drinkers are less likely to die from several common health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, accidents and infections .

However, they warned that the study’s results must be interpreted carefully as coffee drinking has been measured in a specific period of time, and it is unclear which of the components of coffee exactly is linked to longevity.

Researchers used data from a study on nutrition and health that started a survey on nutrition including several questions on coffee addressed to adults aged between 50 and 71 years old, between 1995 and 1996. They used disease and mortality records to see how many of these persons died, and to know the causes of death.
