Activists reported to Agence France Press that the American and French ambassadors arrived on Tuesday evening to Darayya village in Rif Dimashq to attend activist Ghayath Matar’s funeral who died in a Syrian prison.

According to Human Rights Watch, Matar was arrested on the 6th of September and was tortured to death.

Ghayath Matar, 26, played a key role in the demonstrations against the President Bashar Assad regime.
