Late-night lighting exposure increases depression risk
A new study showed that excessive late-night exposure to artificial light, mainly TVs and computer screens can cause depression.

According to the American “Live Science” website, researchers conducted a study on hamsters exposed to artificial lighting. After 4 weeks, the hamsters showed signs of depression, including abstaining from drinking water and eating sweets they had always loved.

A medical student in neuroscience at Ohio State University and one of the participants in the study, Tracy Bedrosian, explained that late-night artificial light exposure may have been behind the high depression rates recorded in the past 50 years.
