Yemeni capital after a deadly bout of violence between government forces and opponents of the regime. The cease-fire came into force on Tuesday evening, ending three days of bloodshed in Sanaa and elsewhere across Yemen that has left more than 70 people dead. The violence came as protesters stepped up their campaign to oust longtime President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Sanaa residents took advantage of the lull to venture out from their homes on Wednesday morning to buy food and other essential supplies. Many hurried back home as an outburst of heavy gunfire rang out from an area close to the residence of the country's vice president. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
