Graffiti challenges extremism in Tunisia
Tunisian artists are doing the best they can to break the tension in their country and promote tolerance. This came at a time when Tunisia is sinking in the conflict between salafism and secularism.      

SK1, a graffiti artist turned the walls of the ousted Tunisian President Zine El Abidine’s home into a graffiti masterpiece.         

Another graffiti artist drew using Arabic calligraphy a piece titled "the sun shone from behind the dark centuries" on the highest minaret in Tunisia. The phrase’s length reached 57 meters.        

The written message represents a common hope for the Tunisians after a Salafi group attacked an art gallery, for what they viewed was an insult to Islam.
