With a cat and mouse game, Occupy Wall Street marks its first anniversary

A year went by since the beginning of the Wall Street movements and here they are again, occupying the street. Unlike last year, this year’s demonstrations did not go unnoticed.     

As 600 demonstrators were planning to block Wall Street, the protest slowly turned into a cat and mouse game with New York’s police department. In detail, police officers were checking the identities of all those who wanted to cross the alleys leading to the capital, arresting anyone trying to disrupt the traffic movement.     

Activists used social media websites to cover their demonstrations through Facebook and Twitter using the hash tag "#S17" to confirm that the police arrested 70 people including the retired bishop George Packard, who denounced Wall Street and its control over the lives of Americans.    

The "Occupy Wall Street" movement was able to attract activists from major American cities and garnered supporters in European countries. But will the movement be able to achieve real gains especially when activists are saying that the streets will not be easily contained this time?
