Egypt PM denies Copts fled Sinai after Islamists threats
The Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil denied on Saturday that Copts had fled in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.

Circulating information reported earlier that Sinai Copt residents left their homes after receiving death threats from suspected Islamists.

The Prime Minister stated that his cabinet was given instructions to protect the Copts “wherever they may be”.

Qandil added that there were no "forced evacuations" of Copts from Sinai area, but that “one family had decided to relocate and the government gave respected their free choice of will”.
