Egypt's Islamists demand electoral law changes
Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is turning up the pressure on the country's military rulers to change a new election law, even holding out the possibility of boycotting upcoming parliamentary elections unless the bill is amended. 

In a statement posted Wednesday on the website of the Brotherhood's political party, the group demanded the law be changed to allow party lists to contest all seats up for grabs, including those currently allocated to individual candidates.  

The statement said: "We reject participation in the elections unless the article is changed."  

Many Egyptian political groups say party lists make it harder for former members of Mubarak's now-outlawed ruling party to run.  

Brotherhood officials tried to downplay the boycott threat, saying the group would not skip the vote.   

Elections are slated to begin November 28.
