Clinton plans leaving State Department post presidential elections

US President Barack Obama said on Wednesday that if he was re-elected , he would love for Hillary Clinton to stay on as secretary of state. However, and according to Obama, Clinton refused to stay in her position "despite his begging" .

Obama told Tonight Show, a comedy program  on NBC television that "Clinton has done an incredible job."

"I would love her to stay but I also understand why she is leaving," he added.

Four years ago, Clinton was Obama's bitter rival for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Back then, Obama won the nomination and defeated Republican nominee John McCain and right now he is less than two weeks before the November 6 vote that will determine whether he or his Republican opponent Mitt Romney will be the next US president.
