Poland arrest man planning attack on Parliament

Polish Prime Minister Tusk said that the bomb plot suspect was "fascinated" by Norwegian mass murderer Breivik, adding that  the analysis of Breivik's contacts helped lead investigators to him.

Earlier in the day, Polish authorities say they have arrested a man suspected of planning an attack on the Parliament building in Warsaw.

Prosecutors said Tuesday that they arrested the man in Krakow on Nov. 9. They say he is a chemist who possessed explosive materials and guns.

Prosecutor Piotr Krason gave details of the case at a news conference in Warsaw.

He said the man has confessed in part to the suspicions against him.

According to Reuters, the man was motivated by nationalist and anti-Semitic views, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

"The suspect does not belong to a political group or party. He claims that he was acting on nationalistic, anti-Semitic and xenophobic motives," prosecutor Piotr Krason told a news conference.
