A new Syrian constitution will soon see the light
A high-ranking Baath Party official said Tuesday that a committee will be formed within two days to draft a new constitution for Syria.    

Al-Watan newspaper quoted Assistant Regional Secretary-General of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Mohammad Said Bakhitan as saying that “within two days, a draft presidential decree will be issued on the formation of a committee to draft a new constitution for the country.”    

According to the newspaper, Bakhitan said that the new constitution will be approved by the two-thirds of the National Council and then submitted to a public referendum, which will organize the political life in Syria during the upcoming phase.
