Egypt govt denies report that cabinet resigned

A spokesman for Egypt's interim government on Tuesday denied a report that the entire cabinet had resigned.

Al Jazeera television had carried a headline stating that the Prime Minister Essam Sharaf had handed in the resignation of the whole government.

But a cabinet spokesman, Mohamed Hegazy, denied the report and said the government was continuing to work.

An army source also denied the TV report which had followed the resignation, announced in Egyptian state media, of Finance Minister Hazem el-Beblawi.
