Iran state TV airs confessions of a Western spy

AFP news agency reported on Thursday that the Iranian state television broadcast a confession of a Westerner in which he admitted conducting espionage operations for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Matti Valok appeared in the Iranian report entitled "The hunter trapped," but his nationality was not given. He claimed that he was arrested back in August by Iran’s security services.

According to the report, the suspect was accused of contacting Iranian scientists to seek information on "the country's scientific progress," using a Slovakian-based international recruitment agency that he had created.
