UNSC calls on Afghanistan to respect human rights
The UN Security Council urged on Wednesday the Afghan government to promote respect for human rights and fight corruption.

During a ceremony to renew NATO tenure in Afghanistan for another 12 months, the UNSC stressed the need for the Afghan government to make tangible progress and strengthen judicial institutions during the reconstruction process.

All 15 members of the UNSC called on Karzai’s regime to fight corruption, adopt transparency and uphold its responsibilities.
