71 arrested as protesters occupy
Wall Street Thousands of anti-corporate protesters marched Saturday from New York City's Financial District to Times Square in a show of force that resulted in 71 arrests and 42 injured.

Demonstrators were hand-cuffed to police vehicles, the site was surrounded with metal barriers and police members were deployed in Times Square.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said after an orderly procession of hundreds of protesters from Zuccotti Park to Washington Square Park beginning at 11 a.m., a smaller group left Washington Square and entered a branch of Citibank at nearby LaGuardia Place. There, at approximately 2:40 p.m., 24 were arrested for criminal trespass, one of them additionally for resisting arrest.
