Saudi Arabia beheads, crucifies Yemeni murderer

The Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday that the kingdom beheaded a Yemeni man and then crucified his body after he was convicted of murdering a Pakistani national.

A statement carried by state news agency SPA said that the Yemeni citizen Mohammed Rashad Khairi Hussein killed Pakistani Pashteh Sayed Khan after having committed sodomy with him.

The Yemeni was also convicted of carrying out a series of attacks and robberies.

The execution in the southern city of Jizan was followed by a crucifixion which is implemented by Saudi Arabia for serious crimes.

The beheading brings the number of people put to death in Saudi Arabia to 28 so far this year.

It is worth mentioning that rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabia’s version of sharia, or Islamic law.
