China says US tariff exemptions 'small step' to correct 'wrong practice'

On Sunday, China said that U.S. President Donald Trump's exempting consumer electronics from import levies was a "small step" in correcting his "wrong practice" of imposing 145 percent tariffs on Chinese goods.

"China is now evaluating the impact," a commerce ministry spokesperson said in a statement after Washington said smartphones, computers, and other electronics would be excluded from the levies.
