Freighter sinks after collision off East China coast
A freighter sank Friday evening following collision with another cargo ship in the sea area off the coast of eastern China's Qingdao city, according to New China News Agency.

Of the total 19 crew members aboard the sunk vessel, all believed to be nationals of Democratic People's Republic of Korea, nine were rescued, including three injured who were sent to hospital for treatment.

Search for the remaining 10 people were still going on, according to officials from Qingdao Municipal Government.

Rescue operation was launched soon following the accident by local maritime rescue center. Currently a total of 13 ships are there conducting the search and rescue operation.
