Spanish police seize 32-tonne haul of hashish

Spanish police announced on Friday that they have seized 32 tonnes of hashish, with an estimated value of 50 million euros, hidden in a truck transporting melons from Morocco.

In the details, the police discovered 24 wooden boxes containing 32.38 tonnes of hashish, noting that the driver was detained on suspicion of committing a crime against public health.

Spain is the key gateway for smuggling hashish from neighboring Morocco into Europe and the police frequently manage to thwart the attempts and make large seizures.
