Zelensky orders army not to attack Russia's Red Square parade on May 9

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday ordered the army not to attack Moscow's Red Square during the WWII victory day parade on May 9, following a U.S. announcement of a three-day ceasefire between the nations.

"For the duration of the parade (from 10:00 a.m. (07:00 a.m. GMT) Kyiv time on May 9, 2026), the area of Red Square shall be excluded from the plan for the use of Ukrainian weapons," said a decree on the presidential website.
