Berlusconi denies resignation rumors

Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi denied rumors that spread through the financial markets about his resignation, stressing that they are not true, according to a source close to the Italian Premier.

Italian shares recorded an all-time high at mid-day on Monday because of the rumors spread by the Italian press on the possibility that Berlusconi might throw in the towel. FTSE MIB index registered a 2.33% increase and reached 15703 points, following an opening dip.
