Over 1 million migrants apply for Spain's mass regularisation: PM

More than one million undocumented migrants in Spain have applied for regularisation under a scheme that has defied a crackdown on irregular immigration elsewhere in Europe, the prime minister said on Tuesday.

"The more than one million applications submitted... show how necessary this recognition of rights and responsibilities was," Socialist leader Pedro Sanchez said in Madrid on the final day for submissions.
