Mikati meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in Riyadh
President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping stated on Saturday that his nation "appreciates Lebanon's positive contribution to strengthening cooperation between Arab countries and China."
During a meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati from his residence in Riyadh, he continued, "China is interested in developing cooperation with Lebanon in the economic and social fields.
"It continues to support Lebanon with everything it needs, especially in this period in the field of renewable energy," he added.
Mikati, for his part, expressed gratitude to "China for its effective contribution over the years to preserving stability in southern Lebanon through its active participation in the UNIFIL forces."
"Lebanon is looking forward to more Chinese investments in Lebanon, especially In the field of infrastructure, in which China has extensive experience," Mikati noted.
Mikati expressed his desire for "the opening of Chinese markets to Lebanese handicraft products" while also expressing his gratitude to China for "the gift of financing the National Conservatory's construction."
