Future bloc MP Jarrah to LBCI: Christian community is not in danger

Future bloc MP Jamal al-Jarrah said on Tuesday that the policy of sectarian division adopted by the Free Patriotic Movement takes a toll on the Lebanese state and its institutions.

"If the fate of Christians is linked to that of caretaker Minister of Energy Gebran Bassil, then the Christian community and the whole country will wither away," Jarrah said.

"Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri made concessions in order to form a new cabinet," MP Jarrah said in an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, asking why other parties do not also waiver concessions.

"The Christians are not in danger and no one should downplay their role in Lebanon," he said, adding that "as a Sunnite, he does not accept to live in the country in the absence of Christians".
