Speaker Berri adjourns election session to July 15
Speaker Nabih Berri adjourned on Wednesday the parliamentary session tasked to elect a new president to July 15.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since May 2014 when the mandate of Michel Sleiman ended without the election of a successor.

Ongoing disputes between the rival March 8 and 14 camps over a consensual presidential candidate have hindered the polls.

The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc of Hezbollah and the Change and Reform bloc of Michel Aoun have been boycotting the presidential elections.
