REPORT: Civil society activists protest cabinet’s failure to resolve waste management crisis
Lebanon News
Civil society activists proceeded on Tuesday with their campaign against the Lebanese government and officials who have failed to resolve the pressing waste issue, in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner.

In this regard, activists blocked the road between downtown Beirut's Banks Street and Riad El-Soleh square, calling on ministers to resign "for continuously failing to find suitable solutions for pending dossiers."

Activists later blocked the road towards the Bechara El-Khoury street and Gemmayze, across the Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque.

This as scuffles took place between the protesters and passers-by near the Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque on the backdrop of road blocking.

Meanwhile, several people not related to the campaign blocked Hamra's Abdul Aziz street.

On Monday, undercover activists videotaped waste collecting trucks disposing garbage in the Beirut River and in a parking lot in Sin el-Fil. The following morning, cabinet announced that it would be postponing its session to discuss the pending dossier until Thursday.
