Six rockets hit Baalbek, Sleiman condemns incident

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman said on Saturday that Lebanese Armed Forces should pursue those who launched rocket on the Lebanese region of Baalbek.

Sleiman added that such actions are rejected, and will be a subject of prosecution by the Lebanese state in order to maintain the security of citizens in all Lebanese regions.

On Friday evening six rockets fired from the Syrian side fell on the al-Kayyal region in the town of Baalbeck, East Lebanon.

One of the rockets hit the house of citizen Sleiman Ramadan, wounding his daughter Manale Ramadan, while the house was severely damaged.

Lebanon has been reeling from the spillover of the two-year Syrian conflict while Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian raging battles may cause further backlash from Syrian rebels who threatened to attack the party's bases in Lebanon if it does not withdraw from Syria.
