Army Command explains video depicting LAF members being arrested by FSA

The state-run National News Agency declared on Saturday that the video which was spread on social media websites showing Lebanese Armed Forces troops being arrested by the Free Syrian Army in a mountainous region near the Lebanese – Syrian borders, is fabricated and not true.

Later in the day, the LAF Command issued a statement in this regard explaining that the incident shown in the video took place on the 16th of September 2012 in the mountainous region of Arsal, and was declared at the time. The LAF Command stated that the military troops were ambushed by the FSA, expressing its regret toward the fact that the video was released and spread at a time when the Lebanese Army is being the target of harsh campaign against LAF members following the incidents of Abra in Sidon.
