Lebanese nationals in Australia protest outside Lebanese, Iranian embassies

   
A number of Lebanese nationals from Sydney, Canberra and other Australian states gathered on Sunday outside the Lebanese embassy in Canberra in the presence of representatives of the Lebanese parties, associations and institutions.            

The protesters delivered a letter to the Lebanese ambassador Jean Daniel whereby they voiced their support to the Lebanese President Michel Sleiman in his sovereign positions and to the Lebanese Army, offering their condolences to the military institution following the incidents which took place in Sidon last week and led to the death of at least 17 LAF members.                

The protesters raised the Lebanese and Australian flags, as well as banners expressing their support to the President and the Army.                  

On another note, other groups of the Lebanese community in Australia gathered outside the Iranian embassy in Canberra, condemning what they called “the Iranian intervention in the Lebanese internal affairs by supporting to Hezbollah which is participating in the battles in Syria alongside the Syrian army.”                

The protesters also raised the Lebanese and Iranian flags as well as banners denouncing the practices of Iran and Hezbollah.                      

Meanwhile, the protesters prepared protest letters, whereby they called on the Australian government and the world to protect Lebanon from any external attacks, and tried to deliver them to all the employees of the Iranian embassy who refused to receive them, leading the protesters to put the letters in the embassy’s mailbox.
