Russia shuts down nuclear submarine reactor
The atomic reactor of the Russian submarine which caught fire on Thursday has been shut down, Interfax news agency cited a Defence Ministry official as saying.

A fire broke out aboard a Russian nuclear submarine docked at a shipyard in northern Russia on Thursday, the Emergency Ministry said. It said radiation levels were normal.   

The ministry said that no one was injured in and that radiation levels at the shipyard in the northern Russian region of Murmansk were normal.   

Firefighters are trying to put out the blaze aboard the Yekaterinburg, a K-84 type nuclear submarine that was built in 1984.
