Palestinian leadership turns to UNSC to save two-state solution
Palestinian leadership decided to head to the U.N. Security Council and call on the Arab League council to meet about the expanding Israeli settlement campaign.

In a statement made following a Saturday meeting led by President Mahmoud Abbas, the executive committee said that it will approach the UNSC to discuss the dangerous developments that will destroy all practical political opportunities and undermine the viability of a two-state solution.

The statement added that the decision was taken in light of the expansion of the settlement campaign and the fact that it included Jerusalem, its surroundings and all of the West Bank. The Israeli campaign aims to isolate Jerusalem completely and divide the West Bank to prevent the establishment of an independent state and impose the canton arrangement.
