REPORT: Heavy rains cause road floods, trap citizens inside vehicles
Heavy rains flooded the roads in and around Beirut causing a severe traffic jam on Thursday morning.

The highways leading outwards from the Lebanese capital towards Nahr al-Kalb, Jounieh, al-Mkalles, Jesr al-Wati and al-Hayek were also congested.

While several motor vehicle accidents were reported across the regions, the Internal Security Forces warned citizens from the risks of slippery roads, calling on them to drive cautiously.

Similarly, in the Bekaa's Ras Baalbek, security forces and Civil Defense teams urged commuters to refrain from approaching rivers for fear of flooding.

In turn, the Traffic Management Center called on all citizens traveling towards the Bekaa to practice extreme caution on the highway due to heavy fog on the Daher al-Baydar international road.
