Fletcher: Lebanese religious leaders should establish productive dialogue

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai discussed with U.K. Ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher bilateral relations and recent developments on Tuesday.

Following their meeting, Fletcher stressed the full U.K. support for the Christian presence in Lebanon and the Middle East.

The U.K. ambassador appealed to the Lebanese leaders to support their state and institutions, highlighting the link between the Christian presence and the region’s future.

Fletcher voiced respect for Rai’s position, calling on the religious leaders in Lebanon to play an effective role in establishing a productive dialogue.
