A six-story residential building collapsed on Sunday in Fassouh, Achrafieh.

Rescue teams from the Internal Security Forces and the Red Cross rushed to the scene to save any possible survivors.

The Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel and other army officials arrived on the scene to help direct the rescue efforts.

In this regard the head of the Lebanese Red Cross George Kettaneh told LBCI that the rescue teams are working together and called on the people gathered around the building to leave enough space for the workers to complete their work.

Up till this moment, rescue workers have removed 24 bodies and helped 11 injured most of them Lebanese, others are Sudanese, Filipinos and Egyptians.

15-year-old Anne Marie Abdalkarim was the first casualty found in Achrafieh building collapse.

MP Michel Pharaon along with several other political leaders are on the scene.
