March 14 condemns distancing policy

March 14 movement condemned the government's adoption of what was known as the distancing policy towards the developments in Syria, depicting it as favoring and supporting the Syrian regime.

Following its weekly meeting, March 14 said the distancing policy must support Lebanon and bolster its local security instead of serving the Syrian regime.

“It must control the Lebanese borders and avoid certain events such as that of Arida”, March 14 said in a statement.

Accordingly, the movement voiced readiness to face the regime's plans against Lebanon's sovereignty, security and stability.

Separately, March 14 denounced the declarations, made by Iranian official Qassem Suleimani, that Iran was controlling South Lebanon. March 14 deplored the government's silence at Suleimani's words and warned at the same time the Iranian regime of exporting its crisis to Lebanon.
