REPORT: Sources to LBCI: Key ISIS militant confesses to seeking to occupy northern towns

Sources told LBCI on Monday that key ISIS militant Ahmad Mikati, who was arrested last Thursday (October 23), confessed to seeking to occupy the towns of Bakhoun, Assoun, Sir al-Donniyeh and Bekaa Sefrin, “since they lack security and would have provided a safe haven for other militants.”

In information made available to LBCI, the first stage of the militants’ plan was to carry out security operations in the northern city of Tripoli, in a bid to link the Syrian town of al-Qalamoun to the Lebanese coast.

In this regard, sources said that notorious Tripoli 'axis leaders' Chady al-Mawlawi and Oussama Mansour were aware of the plan, which was supposed to be implemented within the span of a month.
