Zahra: Cabinet’s term is over

MP Antoine Zahra told "Radio Free Lebanon" that the Cabinet of Prime Minister Najib Mikati has literally "ended its military service" because it no longer can reach a consensus on any matter.

He added the Lebanese are paying the price for the government's inefficiency and unproductively, arguing that the only purpose for this cabinet is to serve the Syrian regime.

"The Free Patriotic Movement saw an opportunity to seize all the Christian posts in the state through administrative appointments and this (bloc) claims that it is the only party which represents the Christians."

He stressed that governments in Lebanon are temporary but the administrative posts in the state are permanent and for this reason filling these posts amid the absence of March 14 forces is unacceptable.

Zahra argued that the minister of MP Michel Aoun's bloc have failed to carry out their duties in all the ministerial posts they held such as electricity, cellular, water and wages of labors.

But the MP dismissed the possibility that the government would step down at the moment because it still serve the purpose of the Syrian regime. "This government is not capable of producing and not capable of resigning.

The only one who is paying the price is the Lebanese themselves." Zahra claimed that Speaker of the House Nabih Berri is on the hit list of the assassins due to his continuous call for preserving Lebanon's unity and return to the institutions.
