General strike in Israel

A general strike kicked off in Israel Wednesday morning upon a call launched by the Trade Union in protest against employing a large number of temporary workers in the public and private sectors.

At 6 a.m. half a million employees from both public and private sectors began the strike. The employees work in hospitals, municipalities, electricity institution, banks, railways, harbors, stock market and education institutions.
