Mufti Qabbani warns of Tripoli's clashes

Mufti of the Republic called upon Lebanese army to halt the disturbing violence in Tripoli, north Lebanon.

Skirmishes between Bab Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohssen localities began Friday afternoon and quickly spiraled out of control, as the Lebanese army deployed and mobilized units in an effort to control the bloody chaos.

"It is an attempt at creating sectarian strife," said Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbany. He advocated all Lebanese to hold on to state institutions as the only means of preserving national stability.
