Kenaan submits Change and Reform transportation decree to Parliament

The Head of Finance and Budget parliamentary Committee MP Ibrahim Kenaan submitted to a draft decree on transportation fees on behalf of the Change and Reform bloc to the Parliament’s General Secretariat. Kenaan said that the draft was included in the agenda of Wednesday’s parliamentary session.

Kenaan told LBCI that this step is scientific, legal and does not contradict with international or local laws.

“The plan devises a mechanism that calculates the transportation fees and allows the cabinet to set decrees, take appropriate steps and launch executive initiatives”, Kenaan added.

Kenaan stressed that Future bloc MP Nabil De Freij will also submit a draft, adding that the Parliament is the suitable place for discussion in order to settle this issue once and for all.

Kenaan headed to Ain Al Tineh on Saturday to meet with Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss the issues that were tackles following the visit of the Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun. “The atmosphere points towards the possibility of a settlement”, Kenaan said.
