Heavy snow blocks Lebanon’s mountain roads

Heavy snow that fell Saturday night covered and blocked mountain roads in Aley brush lands and the higher Metn. Furthermore, the road from Balchmi until Dahr el Baidar is completely closed because of heavy snow that fell over the night and formed a 20 cm layer.

The international road of Dahr el Baidar, roads in Zahleh, Bcharre-Cedars road were all also blocked. However, equipped vehicles can have access to Ajaltoun road.

Snow covered most villages and towns in the higher Metn and snow plowing machines either owned or rented by the Public Works Ministry are working on opening the streets and roads.

In Aley bruch lands from Bhamdoun gas station until Shanai. Snow plowing machines are also attempting to re-open roads in Sharon, Bhamdoun Al Daiaa, Mansourieh and Btater.
