Raya al-Hassan to LBCI: Nahhas was forced to sign transportation decree

Former Finance Minister Raya al-Hassan told Nharkom Said TV show that Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas was forced to sign the transportation fees decree to allow the Prime Minister to save face. Al-Hassan stressed that it is unheard of that a PM accept that the mutiny of one minister take the entire cabinet hostage.

“The policies of Harirism contributed to the economic growth and prosperity in the past years”, al-Hassan said, stressing that economic growth in Lebanon fell from 8 to 1% since March 8 forces took the helm.

The former finance minister said that there is a lack of coordination between Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi and PM Najib Mikati.

“This lack of coordination is bearing negative repercussions on the public budget and generating a sense of distrust in the economic decisions taken by the cabinet”, al-Hassan said.
