Aoun: Nahhas’ resignation “in my hands”

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun confirmed following his bloc weekly meeting on Tuesday that he was briefed on Labor Minister Nahhas’ decision to resign, adding that the issue should be settled within the cabinet.

When asked whether he had accepted the decision or not, Aoun stressed “Nahhas’ decision to resign is in my hands, when it is referred to cabinet then it is accepted.”

“We have spoken with Nahhas to whom we extend thanks for his high competence. However, his circumstances did not allow him to continue working with us,”he added.

Sources earlier reported that Nahhas would give Aoun the final decision regarding his resignation.

Former Minister Mario Aoun told Voice of Lebanon radio that Aoun approved the resignation of Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas, describing his decision to resign as “final”.
