Sleiman continues European trip, promises safeguarding of Taif
President Michel Sleiman met with his Czech counterpart Václav Klaus to discuss bilateral relations, on Thursday. This meeting comes at the beginning of Sleiman’s visit to Prague.

While he was visiting Romania, Sleiman told Lebanese businessmen that Lebanon is adopting the principle of balance in international relations and between different sects. Sleiman hailed Lebanese banks for their efforts in funding the STL.

The president stressed that he will always continue to introduce reforms and will exert efforts to safeguard the Taif accord, filling some gaps that emerged in the implementation phase.

Sleiman also highlighted, during his European trip, the need to prepare a modern law that guarantees fair representation steering clear from sectarian and confessional discrimination.
