The country is divided in two camps: On Sunday a security impasse at Martyr’s Square and on Monday a Parliamentarian confrontation.

Hundreds and maybe thousands will gather in Martyr’s Square on Sunday and Billions of dollars will be discussed on Monday on the government’s table.

Problems and confrontations are the only common ground between these two events. Sheikh Ahmad Assir called for a demonstration on Sunday to support Homs citizens in their struggle for freedom and does not have an answer if asked about the next steps that he will be taking.

On the other hand, the Lebanese Baath Party and its allies who decided to march against Assir and support Syrian President Bashar Assad have no clue of what tomorrow protests might add to the political tension in the country.

Same scenario for Monday’s political confrontation; The current ruling parties who are trying to reach a consensus on the 8900 Billion Dollars law are unable to pass their proposal in the cabinet without the votes of the head of the National Struggle Front Walid Jumblatt’s ministers.

As usual, Walid Jumblatt will have the decisive word in Monday’s session after taking Speaker Nabih Berri’s green light. Jumblatt might decide to distance himself from the current political crisis and postpone the session until further notice.

The last impasse for the weekend comes from Syria, from both the opposition and Assad’s regime.
