Maronite Bishops: Peoples’ fate cannot be determined by violence
The Maronite bishops held on Wednesday at Bkerke there monthly meeting where they discussed the ongoing dispute in Lebanon over the exercise of power saying that it will lead to more conflict, adding that rules should be devised to tackle this situation.

In their press conference the Maronite Bishops discussed the Syrian crisis saying that Peoples’ fate cannot be determined by violence.

On the wage hike dispute the bishops said “ The officials should find the proper solution to pending financial disputes and present a comprehensive and binding plan that achieves the greater good.”

“We praise the security forces and army on their role in protecting the country’s borders.”

The Maronite Bishops raised the history book issue saying “the debate over the official history book should not lead to more division in Lebanon but it should serve the country’s interests and agreement over it must be reached through consensus and objectivity.”
